I am but a shadow and you are light Pt.4
Shadow thought that he would be happy for her. And to some extent, he was. They were perfect for each other, their green matching eyes complemented even more that they were to be together.
Green and green
Not red and green
So why did it still hurt?
Even when he knew for a fact Amy would never accept his feelings.
But deep down, on his sweetest dream, he had a small hope that they could be together.
And even now after a week of seeing Amy walk down the aisle, him holding hands with Rouge, he still had hope.
That damn little spark of hope.
It was still there but slowly, just like a candle, it began to run out and suddenly.
There was no more.
He had to be honest with himself, he didn’t love Rouge but did, indeed, enjoy her company.
Rouge, on the other hand, could imagine herself with Shadow for a long time.
But she knew that his heart still belonged to the pink hedgehog. She will try to make him fall in love with her. Even if he could just give her a little bit of the love he felt for Amy, that would be enough for her.
“We are going to need more people in the frontline, Sonic and Shadow need to rest!” One of the generals screamed as more soldiers were approaching the frontline. G.U.N Vs. Infinite’s army, which consisted of fake replicas of G.U.N’s soldiers. It was complicated for GUN soldiers mostly because they didn’t know exactly who to attack.
“We haven’t been able to find infinite! He keeps going doing fakes! He is going outnumber us soon! We need to find him!” Sonic said as aggressively put his hands on the table.
“Numbers don’t win wars.” Shadow simply said. They took a rest on the military’s camp, in a tent.
“No, but they surely help.” Sonic replies.
Canons were heard, the exploding of bombs and screaming of people. Sonic couldn’t take it anymore.
He needed to finish the war now.
Shadow didn’t respond, deep in thought as he saw Sonic’s gold ring, beautifully displayed on his ring finger.
“What if you make Infinite come out of his hidden spot?”
Both hedgehogs turned around and found a snaking Amy and Rouge looking straight at them.
“What are you doing here? Amy, it’s dangerous.” Sonic walked towards Amy and hugged her as he said this. He missed her, but he also didn’t want to put her in danger.
“I’ve missed you, you haven’t written to me since our wedding day.” She responded.
“I know but still-“
Amy didn’t concentrate on Sonic’s words. She got lost in thoughts as she saw Rouge walking towards Shadow and planting a kiss on his lips, which he accepted gladly.
She wasn’t a fool, she knew they were dating even if Shadow tried to deny it most of the time.
“Are you listening to me?”
Amy zoomed in, and regain her attention to Sonic.
“Yes, I did. Don’t worry I’ll stay in the tent all the time so please, don’t be angry that I’ll be staying here.” Amy tried to calm him and watched him take a sigh, defeated.
Sonic looked into her eyes, he was so blessed to have her and he was just too proud to have her.
"Shadow! Sonic! They need you in the front!" One of the commanders said. Shadow immediately stood up and walked past Amy as Rouge followed him. He acknowledges Amy's presence by giving her a look.
Sonic and Amy were now alone.
"I need to leave, but I-"
"Don't say anything, it's better if you tell me when you come back but I do want to say something to you." Amy took a sigh, completely in love with him.
"Ever since that night, when, in a voice all new to me, Under my window you revealed your soul Ah! ever since I have adored you!" Amy said, her eyes shining.
Sonic felt something inside of that that it wasn't right.
"I love you only for your soul!"
Those words resonated in Sonic's ear like a bomb. He felt his world crumble.
"What?" He softly said.
"Nowadays people only want nice looks but your letters...Sonic I love who you are!"
"No...no, I prefer for you to love me by my looks!"
Amy saw Sonic's face change, had she not explain herself well?
"I mean to say that even your beauty was to depart, I'll still love you!" Amy said clearly.
"No, the first love was best!" Sonic walked away from Amy but she took steps towards him. "If I was ugly you wouldn't love me!"
"Don't say that! I swear I'd love you still!"
Sonic only nodded finally realizing what he had done. He walked past Amy as he left her in the tent. She didn't know what she said to make him change emotions.
"Shadow you will be upfront, Infinite is right here, you need to-"
"Pardon me, I need to talk to Shadow." Sonic interrupted the commander as he took Shadow by the arm, pulling him away from the meeting.
"She loves you", Sonic simply said.
"What?"
"Amy! She loves you." Sonic took a moment to look at Shadow's reaction.
How could he be so blind? In all of his life, he had never seen Shadow's face light up like that.
"You love her...don't you?" Sonic asked him, looking at his eyes.
Shadow hestitated, he didn't answer and that's all Sonic needed to know that it was true.
"You love her madly?" He asked again.
"More than madly." Shadow finally said.
Sonic wasn't angry at him but more at himself. He grabbed him and forcefully dragged him to where Amy was. "TELL HER!"
"No!", Shadow said as he tried to go against Sonic.
"Why not?!"
"Look at me!" Shadow was referring again to his bad looks. His horrible scar and red eyes like the devil.
"Tell her!" Sonic keeps saying as he dragging him.
"No! Stop tempting me!"
"I'm tired of being my own rival! Let her choose one of us!" Sonic said out loud.
"You," Shadow said as he finally gave up.
"I hope so."
Sonic then saw Amy ran towards them. Sonic ran off into the battlefield and he left Shadow alone with Amy.
"Where is he going?" Amy asked as she finally reached Shadow.
"He went to the front line, they needed him there," Shadow said.
"Maybe he thought I lied," Amy said sadly as she watched Sonic ran far off, losing her sight on him.
"And did you?" Shadow questioned.
"No, I love him. Regardless of his looks." Amy looked at Shadow straight at his eyes, feeling secure about her answer.
"Even if he was ugly?" Shadow asked.
"Even if he was ugly." She answered.
"Even deformed?."
"Even deformed."
Shadow took a pause and held her hands. "Were he ridiculous and grotesque, would you love him?"
Amy didn't even think for a second, there was no doubt on her heart that she loved Sonic for his soul.
"More than ever."
Shadow couldn't believe it, was happiness actually possible for him? Even when all of this time he thought he wasn't worth loving?
"Listen, Amy, I need to tell you something, I-"
"Shadow! Sonic needs back up now!" One of Shadow's commanders yelled. Shadow looked at Amy one last time before departing to help his blue friend.
.
.
.
Shadow was late.
The one bleeding to death was supposed to be him, not Sonic. His body would be able to handle it but Sonic couldn't. He wasn't thinking clearly, he was obviously angry. Sonic wasn't thinking rationally and because of that, he decided to fight Infinite by himself.
Now, he was a puddle of blood.
He carried Sonic all they back to his military camp. Shadow placed Sonic on the ground, his head resting on a tree trunk.
Amy approached them quickly, "We need to get help no-"
Amy was interrupted by Sonic grabbing her hand.
That's when Amy knew Sonic didn't want any help.
"Sonic... I...I-" Amy couldn't get the words out of her mouth, tears starting to form in her eyes.
"I love you." Sonic softly whispered. As he grabbed her hand.
Amy began to cry louder, on her own misery, she didn't notice Shadow getting closer to Sonic's ear.
"I told her everything. You are the one she loves." Shadow whispered.
Sonic smiled as he accepted his destiny.
He held Shadow and Amy's hand tightly. What a great way to go.
A hero and loved.
Finally, Sonic the hedgehog closed his eyes, accepting death as his friend.
Amy cried without stopping, the love of his life was gone.
Shadow held her in his arms as she continued crying.
"Shadow, Infinite is getting closer we need you right now!" The commander yelled again.
Rouge quickly came into the picture, as she and Shadow tried to pick up Amy from the ground.
"Get her away to somewhere safe!" Shadow told Rouge.
"No! Stay with me! What if something happens to you?!" Amy screamed at him as Rouge pulled her away.
"The fight is on! I need to go!" Shadow said decided.
Amy continued crying, there was no stopping him but she needed reassurance. "His letters...You alone knew him...Was he not a marvelous spirit?"
"Yes, he was," Shadow said as he pushed her away.
"Wasn't he a supreme, lovable poet?"
"Yes, he was"
" A sublime being?" Amy began to cry more as the words struggled to come out. Tears falling on her eyes, misery in her voice. "Wasn't he a deep, saintly heart, a magnificent and pure soul?!"
Rouge was finally able to put Amy away from Shadow.
Shadow watched as he saw Rouge walk away from me.
Shadow realized that all of those words she said witch such passion, pain, emotion...they were for him. She was in love with him.
He needed to make a decision.
But honestly, it wasn't a hard one.
Keep the loving memory of his only friend and make the love of his life believe that her only love was death?
Or try and have a happy life with Amy by telling her the truth?
This was no decision...it was logic.
and Shadow had finally decided.
Shadow sighed, happily accepting his fate as he whispered to himself,
"Farewell, Amy."

The Baseborn Princess and the Aesir Prince
TITLE: The Baseborn Princess and the Aesir Prince
CHAPTER NO./ONE SHOT: Chapter 8 AUTHOR: wolfpawn ORIGINAL IMAGINE: Imagine you’re a bastard daughter of a king of a far-off realm, the product of his drunken loneliness at battle. His guilt of cheating on his wife drove him to send you to live on Midgard, but due to the fact that his other children (and his wife) adore you, you’re often invited to visit. RATING: Teen and Up
Sika exited the bedroom to his surprised family, startled to see Loki standing close to them. He looked behind him into the room where Loki had been a few moments before only to see it was empty. He looked to Loki again, who was grinning slyly.
‘Father?’ Eoin looked to his father concerned.
Sika, is everything alright?’ Lydia asked.
‘I need you all to leave for a few minutes.’ Sika declared. The family look amongst themselves, Clodagh was the first to head for the door. ‘I need to speak with you.’ She did not even turn to see who Sika was speaking to, never thinking he could be referencing her. ‘Clodagh.’
That was when she turned. She had never heard Sika say her name, not once in nigh on a thousand years. She looked at Loki worried, then to Lydia and her siblings but she did not look at Sika.
Though apprehensive, the others did eventually do as requested and left. For a few moments, after they left, father and daughter remained stoic still and silent. ‘I need to give official confirmation to the Allfather that you are alright with this matching.’ He stated after a time.
‘I am not suited to the position.’
In truth, Sika was startled, he had assumed from Loki’s declaration that Clodagh wanted it as he did. ‘So you have no feelings for Prince Loki?’
‘I do.’
‘Then I do not understand what you are saying.’
Clodagh sighed. ‘I am not suited to being Prince Loki’s bride. He needs someone trained in the role, I have not trained in any way to such a role. I have met all four members of his family, I acted as though the Allmother was some woman from the forests, I backed into him in the library, I slapped Prince Thor and I blanked the Allfather, that is how I met the Aesir royal family, does that sound like it went well? For the past few weeks Amelia has been shoving etiquette and procedure down my throat, I have a headache thinking about it and then the Allmother said I would be forced to learn more. These are princess things, I am not a princess. Dressing in fancy dresses and putting on Amelia’s jewellery does not make me a princess, I am just some bastard playing dress-up, parading around as one.’
Sika looked at Clodagh in shock. He knew from Lydia’s comments that she was never overly comfortable with herself, but to hear her call herself such things. ‘There is no need for that word.’
‘What one do you prefer, baseborn, illegitimate, impure, mongrel? They all mean the same thing. I am being called them all right now in this very palace, probably in this very hallway. You getting offended by it will not stop them talking.’
‘Lesser beings speak like that, why allow yourself think as they do?’
‘I was born to a married man and apparently a camp healer, what else can I be called?’ Clodagh half demanded.
Sika looked guilty for a moment before looking at her, ‘What do you mean “apparently”?’
‘I wouldn’t know, would I, she died.’
‘You don’t...no one told you about her?’
Clodagh swallowed sadly. ‘No. who could I possibly ask, I don’t know her name so I cannot see if she has family.’
‘You don’t even….’
‘It’s not like I can ask Lydia, is it?’ She pointed out. ‘You weren’t exactly forthcoming either.’
‘Well, since the...with…’ Sika could not answer.
‘Was she a healer?’
‘Her names was Genevieve, she was a healer, yes. A damn good one, she saved men that had no right surviving the attack they did.’ Sika sat against a table as he spoke, remembering the woman that for so long he feared to think of. ‘She was young, about your age now when she came to the camp. She...she was a very beautiful soul, she used to have a way that settled the ill, it made them trust her more.’ Clodagh swallowed. ‘I do not know if her family still live, her mother was alive when you were born, she was the one to bring you to the palace.’
Clodagh felt a terrible pain in her chest. ‘She didn’t want me?’
‘No, she did, but your markings, they are so noticeable.’ he looked to her arms, the swirls of design identical to his. ‘She knew that there would be more talk if you stayed away, she wanted the best for you.’
‘I am sure thrown aside into a woods is not what she wanted. But it is easier to ignore things when they are out of the way, right?’
‘That is not why...you do not understand.’
‘No, I don’t.’ she concurred. ‘I cannot understand because you never told me any of this, you never once bothered to…’ she exhaled. ‘This...this is too much.’ she walked towards the door. ‘I am sorry, I am sorry for the embarrassment and dishonour of all of this.’
‘It is I that should be apologising to you,’ Sika declared. ‘You never did anything wrong, yet you are the one to suffer for my actions.’
‘You were hardly alone and I doubt that she didn’t know you were married.’
‘It does not make you the guilty party, regardless.’
‘I am the result of the actions, I am quite literally born of it.’
‘That does not make you bad.’
‘What does it make me, because it sure as Hell makes me feel it?’
‘None of this was ever your doing, I am to blame for any dishonour to the family, not you. You had no part in this, you are innocent.’ Sika stated adamantly.
‘Then why have I always felt that it is my fault?’ Clodagh began to feel her eyes fill with tears. ‘Lydia is so lovely, so good and I…’
‘No, not you, it was never you.’ Sika reiterated, remembering the joyous face of his wife on his return from war, and then the heartbreak in her eyes when Clodagh was brought to them, her marking clear to see. ‘I was wrong. I was a married man, I should have done what was right, but do you know something Clodagh, I regretted being a bad husband, I regretted not telling Lyddie on my return, but I do not regret that you exist.’ She looked at him, startled to see his tear-filled eyes. ‘I see what you do, you light up a room you are in with joy and happiness, no one can help themselves, you just make them want to be happy. I hear my grandchildren talk about how you are their favourite of their aunts and uncles, each one of them.’ Clodagh smiled at that. ‘I read Amelia’s letter, telling us about Hogun, promising that he was good, all we had to do is ask you, that you would attest he was worthy. She holds your opinion so greatly. Then there is the Allfather, telling me that his ravens, the same birds that tried to peck out people’s eyes actively seek you for attention. And Prince Loki telling the whole hall that you are knee deep in a puddle, head in the bushes looking after a blasted hedgehog, stopping carriages in the middle of a street to pick up a child’s doll because she dropped it, talking to her as a true royal should. You were not here five minutes and you had them wishing for you as a choice for the princes. Any man would be proud to have such a daughter.’ She stared at him, shocked. ‘I have failed you so terribly. I should have treated you as a father should since the beginning, I did not want to hurt Lydia any further, but in doing that, I hurt her, and you, so much more. I have not been a man, I was a coward. You deserved a caring father, the way I treat the others and then act as though you were not there, Norns you must loathe me, I can see why you avoid being around.’
‘No, I...I didn’t want to embarrass you more.’
‘You are not an embarrassment.’
‘I have been one, the Aesir royal family, my actions….’
‘They adore you, Prince Loki loves you, Queen Frigga tore that witch asunder in the hall for her actions against you, King Odin, he dared King Frederick to keep talking, Prince Thor was asked to refrain your brothers from getting at King Frederick and he refused. You are so adored by them. You should despise me, but instead, you fear disappointing me, you never could, I have disappointed you. I should have kept you at the palace and raised you as you are, a princess, you may not feel like one, but you are. You look like my mother, she was the crowned princess, my father married into the line. Admittedly, you are slightly different in appearance, you have your mother’s skin tone, but that is, by no means, something to complain about. Prince Loki does not seem to mind.’ He gave a faint smile, looking at her as she eyed him almost suspiciously. ‘I can hardly blame you for being skeptical, I have given you every reason to believe I do not hold you in high regard, but I swear to you, Clodagh, I am so proud of you, I look at you, your goodness and resilience and I see the incredible elf you have become and I cannot help but be proud even though I did nothing to earn that right.’
Clodagh’s throat was tight. ‘I thought you hated me.’ she admitted in a small voice.
‘No, no I could never hate you, you were always such a truly good child, the day you came to the palace, the day you were born, you looked up at me, and as soon as I saw you, you just looked straight at me, even with my shameful actions coming to light, I loved you, you are my daughter, my flesh and blood, you were my first little girl, after three boys.’ He gave a slightly bigger smile. ‘I have always been frightened to show you or to admit it, but I love you Clodagh, since the start, since you extended a little hand up out of the blanket to try and make contact with me. You tried so hard, I failed you. I can only beg your forgiveness. I will give your dowry as is the norm, but if you truly do not think it a suitable match, I will inform the Allfather.’
‘Dowry?’
‘Yes, all princesses have a dowry.’
‘I...You...No, you shouldn’t have to.’ She turned to leave again.
‘I have to. For Norn's sake, I am your father.’ Sika growled. ‘You are my daughter, it is only right.’
‘You have nothing to do with me though, I am the odd one out, I have been nothing but a bother since the beginning, you must have been desperate to drown me in the river of my name.’
‘I did not name you after that river because I wanted to harm you in it, how could you think such a thing?’
Clodagh stared at him. ‘You…..you named me?’
‘Yes.’
‘But mothers name their children.’
‘Your mother never got to name you. Her mother said that she never even got to know you were a girl.’ Clodagh felt her legs give way and she slumped to the floor, Sika rushed over and held her. ‘I named you, it was something I took great honour and consideration in. The Clodagh is the life-giver of Alfheim, without it, we could never survive there. It nurtures everything in our realm, without it, there is no Alfheim.’
Clodagh contemplated his words. ‘I didn’t realise….’
‘The army remained by the Clodagh for the time of the war as much as was possible. In one battle, jumping into it is all that saved us. That river means everything to Alfheim, I thought….what better name for a child than to show her she is as valuable as that river.’
‘You say these things, but you never once acted that way.’ She pointed out.
Sika sighed. ‘Not to you, no, but internally…’ He walked into the other room and walked out again holding a set of ledgers of some sort and put them on the table near her. ‘I have one of these for the five of you, yours is the fourth one is yours, obviously.’ They looked at one another for a short time before she seemed to realise that he was expecting her to go over to it. She did so, taking out the book with IV on it and opened it. As she glanced over a few lines, her eyes widened. ‘You see, I always cared, I was just so terrible at showing it. I wronged you, my beautiful and wonderful Clodagh, I am so sorry.’
‘I...I need to....’
‘I understand.’ He nodded, he watched silently as she gave him back the book and look him in the eye for the first time he could remember.

How about this one?
I feel so productive today and very proud of myself! I said I was going to go through at least 5-6 requests and I went through at least 5 requests and this sixth one isn’t really a request but something I have been working on last night and only just finished! I got distracted by baking today but I am happy with myself. Thank you for giving me a chance and thank you for following this blog!
Almost everyone knows about Damian’s unconditional love for animals. He is always seen taking his dog – Titus -, his cat – Alfred – and occasionally batcow out for walks. Yes, even the cow leaves the cave sometime. Though most of the time, batcow only ever goes as far as walking around the Garden because it is a little bit hard having to explain why he keeps a cow around as a pet. Even Goliath gets to leave every now and then but Goliath always manages to find his way home whenever he leaves so Damian doesn’t worry about him as much. But minor things aside, almost everyone in Gotham City and its neighboring cities know that Damian Wayne loves taking care of animals and appreciates the love he receives in return from the animals.
What they did not know is Damian’s love of saving and bringing stray animals back home. Not just stray animals he finds at the street but stray animals he manages to save while running about the city while doing his patrols or missions. You like to think that Gotham City will definitely see your little boy in a whole new light if they ever happen to stumble upon him in that particular situation. Though lately, this is starting to become a problem. You don’t even remember how many times you have to reject your son and made sure the strays he saved finds a good home instead. All you know at that moment is that Damian needs to stop bringing home strays.
You recall the moment where Damian had found a liger once.
(Damian wraps his arms around the little body in his cloak. The little liger had been one of the animals that had been experimented on when he had busted in to the research faculty earlier. Damian would have missed the liger entirely if his sharp ears had not caught the small mewl – the liger had been trapped in its cage under a few debris so it definitely had taken his father and him to remove those debris for Damian to rescue the liger.
“Do you think Mother would oppose to me adopting this liger?” Damian asks his father the moment Bruce parks the batmobile in the batcave.
Bruce looks at Damian before turning off the engine. He opens the door and steps out, causing Damian to follow suit. He is about to answer Damian’s question when he spies you sitting in front of the monitor. “Why don’t you ask your mother?” Bruce points you out and upon hearing your husband’s name, you turn around.
“Hi, love.” You greet your husband and son. Bruce gives you a small smile as he pads over to you, pressing a kiss on your temple. You look away from him to look at Damian who is looking at you guiltily. Your eyes land on his arms. “Dami, what do you have in your arms?” You ask him.
Instead of answering you, Damian pulls off the cloak, revealing the liger cub and you almost choke on your own saliva when your eyes fell on the hybrid. “Do you think we can keep him? He can keep batcow, Alfred and Titus company too!” He tells you excitedly and as much as you would love to agree to him, you definitely know you can’t keep the cub as a house-pet.
You reach to place your palm on your son’s cheek. “My sweet darling, you know as much as I do that ligers are not meant for being house-pet.” You glance at Bruce for help but Bruce merely pats your back and you resist rolling your eyes. He knows as much as you do that once you agree to Damian’s request, the next thing you know he will be bringing every single animal he can rescue.
Damian frowns and looks at the liger. The liger is currently resting in his arms and he really does not want to part with the cub – he thinks the liger would have been really good friends with Titus and Alfred. Goliath might think the liger as a plaything though and batcow might even be food material for the liger. “Tt.” He nods his head curtly and you rub your thumb over the apple of his cheek multiple times.
“Maybe we can go to the zoo this weekend?” You try to compromise and Damian ponders for a bit before nodding his head.).
Or that time when Damian had marched turkeys in to your backyard after a mission.
{“DAMIAN WAYNE WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?” You exclaim, horrified over the state of your flower beds. The flowers you have worked hard, tending and watering are not no longer looking healthy and instead look like they have been stepped on multiple times. Which is most likely the case seeing as your son is still parading around playing the trumpet – when did he learn how to play the trumpet!? – and the moment he hears your loud, sharp voice, Damian freezes.
“Mother.” Damian greets you weakly and the turkeys start to peck him against causing Damian to chuckle as he tries to dodge their beaks. “Jerry, stop it – ha ha ha ha!”
You are torn between wanting to coo at how adorable your little bird is being but at the same time you are still torn up over your destroyed flowers. “My flowers, Damian.” You also cannot believe Damian even named one of the Turkeys.
Damian pulls himself away from the Turkeys. “My apologies, mother.” He grimaces at the sight of your beloved flowers. “Do you think we can keep the turkey though? As soon as I play the trumpet, they will start to listen.” Damian is about to blow the trumpet once more when you snatch it away from him, surprising him at your sleight of hands.
“No, Damian – we are going to return this to where they came from or so God help me.” You shake your head – you can’t imagine listening to the trumpet every single hour of the day. “Let’s go to the batcave.” You take a step forward but the Turkeys start to head towards you, wanting to peck you too so you throw the trumpet back at your son. “March your way to the batcave, Damian.”
“Alright, mother.”)
Or that time where Damian keeps saving all the stray cats and dogs he finds and nurses them to health.
(“How many has he nursed, Alfred?” You stand beside Alfred, looking out of the window. Damian is currently diligently putting on bandages on one of the injured dogs.
With a smile on his face, Alfred replies, “about forty, Madam.”
You almost choke on your saliva (again) and you cough a couple of times before staring at Alfred in disbelief. “F-forty!?”
“I have run out of patience to feel surprise at how many animals Master Damian have rescued and nursed, Madam. Do you think it is time to put a stop to it?” He glances at you and you sputter out something intangible before heading out of the dining room to go outside.
The moment Damian spies you, he grins brightly at you and your steps falter. Your resolve almost breaks by the time you finally approach him but the last time you gave in, Damian managed to keep Jerry the Turkey and that turkey still manages to ruin most of your flowers too.
“Where are you going to house any of these animals, love?” You ask as you drape your arm over his shoulders, pulling you to him. Damian leans against you momentarily before picking up one of the cutest cats of the bunch and all but shoves it up your face. You had to lean away just so Damian doesn’t hit you in the face with the cat.
“Can we at least keep one so Alfred the Cat has a companion?” Damian asks you with almost a pout on his face. You know he never begs you for anything so this is really a surprise for you. You glance at the several different dogs and cats around the backyard and you know for sure if you said yes to this cat, Damian’s going to want another companion for Titus too.
“Sorry, darling – how about we choose a shelter that you like and we can bring them there? You can always visit them.” You run your hand through Damian’s hair and he sighs before nodding his head.
“Tt.”)
Which brings you to your current predicament.
“Before you can even say ‘no’ mother, I have acquired this hedgehog from the shelter and –“
You had not even let Damian finish his sentence before you gently take the sleeping hedgehog from his hand and coo at the adorable little animal. Damian is staring at you in surprise – a little bit surprised that you would want a hedgehog instead of all the animals he had been trying to convince you to take. “This is so adorable, Damian. Have you named it? Is it a male or female?”
“Tt.” Damian smirks at your barrage of questions before answering all of them and he grins at you after that. “So this means we can keep it then?”
You glance at the hedgehog before looking at Damian and back at the hedgehog. “Your father told you I have always wanted a hedgehog didn’t he?” You ask him flatly and Damian grins wider. You roll your eyes but nod your head instead. “Okay, you have won me over.”
“Yes, thank you, Mother!”

Sharing a bed LawLicht and KuroMahi can I pick two ships or just one?
Dear Anon, I didn’t know if you wanted two separate fanficsor one fanfic with the two ships. I wrote something like this for LawLichtalready [Here] so I changed it to sharing a pillow fort (close enough to a bed)because I don’t like to repeat fanfics a lot.
LawLicht {7: Sharing a Bed/Pillow Fort}
“What are you? A five year old?” Licht sighed, exasperated, when he returned from practice and found Hyde. He was used to Hyde setting upsurprises for him so he didn’t think that he could be shocked by him anymore. He was wrong. Hyde had piled pillows and sheets on their bed to make a fort. From its size, Licht was certain that he used every spare pillow andblanket the hotel had.
“Kranz is going to yell at us for ordering so many pillows,Shit Rat.” Licht marched to the foot of the bed where Hyde peaked out of thefort’s opening. He grinned up at him and didn’t appear the least remorseful. With a mischievous gleam in his eyes, Hyde wrapped his arms around Licht’swaist and pulled him closer. He quickly hit him over the head before he couldpull him inside. “Don’t think you can charm your way out of this! I’llsuffocate you with these pillows.”
“You’re so cute when you’re angry.” Hyde purred and Lichtcouldn’t look more disgusted with his transparent ploy. Inside he was blushingand Licht wished that his red eyes didn’t affect him as much as they did. “Butthere’s really no need to be mad. I didn’t order these pillows so Kranz won’tyell at us about a big hotel bill. I stole them.”
“That’s worse!” Licht yelled. “You really know no guilt, demon.”
“Nope. But can this demon tempt an angel into joining himunder the sheets?” Licht hated to admit that he was a little intrigued. Hydesaw him eye the fort curiously so he explained. “Your mom called today. Don’tworry, nothing happened. She was just checking up on you because your nexttwo recitals are pretty close. She said not to push yourself too much.”
Hyde quickly explained when he saw worry cross Licht’s face.He knew how close he was to his mother from the relieved smile on his face.“Why didn’t you give me the phone when she called?”
“You were practicing and you would’ve kicked me forinterrupting. Then again, I’ll still get kicked if I waited to tell you. If I’mgoing to get kicked either way, I did the latter so I could talk to your mom.Nice lady. She was a little surprised when I picked up for you though.”
“You didn’t say anything weird and gave her the wrong ideaabout us, did you?” Licht’s eyes narrowed when Hyde teasingly stuck his tongueout. They only started dating recently and he hadn’t told his parents yet. Hedidn’t know how to tell them that he fell under a demon’s spell. “What does mymom’s call have to do with this fort.”
“Come in and I’ll tell you.” Hyde still had his arms aroundhis waist and only let go to take his hands. Licht went willingly and theyentered the fort together. He was a little surprised with how large it wasinside and he wondered how long it took Hyde to build it. When they weresettled inside, Hyde laid back and Licht sat next to him. “I asked your momabout what you were like as a kid. I was hoping that she would send pictures ofyou as a little angel. I’m sure you were adorable.”
“I earned my wings early in life.” Licht said proudly andHyde laughed lightly to himself because his conviction was adorable to him. Hestopped when Licht lightly kicked him. In return, Hyde reached up and gentlytouched the white streak in his hair.
“She didn’t send me any pictures but she did tell me aboutyour childhood.” Hyde remembered their conversation and sat up so they werefacing each other. “She said you never got many opportunities to do things likethis so I wanted to surprise you with a little pillow fort. I couldn’t let anangel sleep on the ground so I built it on the bed.”
“You did this for me?” Hyde nodded and the small gesturewarmed his heart. Licht never had many opportunities to play with his friendswhen he was a child because he practiced so often. He did have a few friendsbut he lost touch with them. He remembered the friend he made a promise to andfelt a little regretful.
Licht never did anything half way. He loved playing the pianoand he immersed himself in it. While most respected that dedication, not manychildren his age had the patients to stay his friend when he rarely pulledhimself out of his busy schedule to spend time with them.
Hyde was probably the first person outside of his family andKranz who didn’t mind. Not only did he fully support his dream, he also gavehim little reprises. Building a fort for him to play in was only one example. He thought back to the time he took him to the KTV and the zoo. He hadn’trealized how much Hyde had done for him since they met.
“So, do you like my surprise?” Hyde looked at himexpectantly.
“This is nice.” Licht couldn’t lie to him even if it wasembarrassing to admit it. Though he did have to add, “But I would love it ifthere were more stuff animals. All the movies I saw had them guarding thefort.”
“Then prepare to fall in love! Meet our stuff animal army.”Hyde pulled down one of the blankets to reveal a pile of stuff animals. Hebrought every animal Licht could want but he had no idea what they would dowith them after they take down the fort. Still, he was proud that he couldsurprise Licht twice in an hour. “Aren’t I the best and most thoughtfulboyfriend ever? I deserve a hug. Come here and give me my reward.”
Hyde spread out his arm, expecting Licht to give him areluctant hug. He was promptly disappointed. “Can’t. The stuff animals need myattention and hugs right now.”
His jaw dropped when he saw that Licht had already buriedhimself under the pile of plushies. The sight would be amusing if it didn’tmean he couldn’t sit next to Licht. He was surrounded by the stuff animals andthere wasn’t any room for Hyde. He doubted Licht would move any to let him in.How could his brilliant plan be backfiring on him?
In the end, Licht was the one that surprised Hyde. He movedthe stuff cat off his lap and said, “Your hedgehog form can sit here. But ifyour quills hurt my new stuff animals, I’m kicking you out of my fort.”
“I thought it was our fort.”
“Then I’ll kick you out of our fort.” Licht corrected andthey both smiled at each other. Hyde chuckled but he transformed and quicklycrawled onto Licht’s lap. Even though he wished that he could be in his humanform, he sighed contently when Licht began to pet him. “Thank you, Hyde.”
KuroMahi {7: Sharing a Bed}
“Kuro?” He groaned at the sound of his name. Kuro didn’t openhis eyes but he felt the bed shift beneath him and he knew that it was Mahiruinstantly. He easily recognized his warm body and soft voice even in his sleephazed state. Mahiru stayed on the far side of the bed and Kuro moved to closethe space between them. Without opening his eyes, Kuro found him and gentlyspooned him.
Mahiru didn’t say a word but Kuro knew that he needed him ifhe sneaked into his room at night. He slept in the guest room and Mahiru rarelycame in when he knew that Kuro was asleep. Kuro didn’t ask why he came into hisroom and kissed his hair instead. In the dark, Mahiru found his hand and lacedtheir fingers together. After a moment, he whispered. “Are you awake, Kuro?”
“Now I am.” Sleep made his voice hoarse but Mahiru could heara tenderness in it. “Nightmare?”
“No. I had a long day but I can’t sleep. I don’t know why.”Mahiru admitted. “Distract me until I fall asleep?”
Kuro rolled onto his side and reached over Mahiru to turn onthe lamp. With its dim light, he could see Mahiru’s weary expression. Hebrushed his fingers over his soft cheek and then trailed them through his hair.As he absentmindedly repeated the gesture, Mahiru relaxed. “I’m not much of anentertainer but what do you want me to do?”
“… I’m not boring you, am I?” Mahiru didn’t answer him andasked a question of his own instead. When Kuro’s hand brushed his cheek again,Mahiru placed his hand over his. “Remember when Licht and Hyde came over today? While Licht was playing with you, I talked with Hyde. He brought up that… youhave needs and wants. Is this enough for you?”
“That troublesome brother of mine.” Kuro groaned and ran hishand through his hair. Why couldn’t he focus on his own relationship instead ofbothering Mahiru? He could feel Mahiru’s worried eyes watching him as he waitedfor an answer. They had been dating for almost two years now but they neverwent further than a few heated kisses.
Kuro would be lying if he said that he didn’t want more withMahiru but he didn’t want to push him. He was willing to wait for him andpressed a chaste kiss on Mahiru’s brow. “What happened to ‘thinking simply’? Thinkingsimply, I’m not going anywhere so there’s no need to rush. You’re important tome and I want to treat you right. When you’re ready, I’m ready.”
“Are you sure?” Mahiru relaxed when Kuro nodded.
“You make me more than happy already.” Kuro told himhonestly. He wasn’t the best with words so he knew that he couldn’t describeeverything he felt. But he still tried. “Honestly, this is new for the both ofus. I’ve never been with someone I loved so much. You’re far more than Ideserve or even thought I’d find in my lifetime. So, I don’t want to mess thisup by rushing. I love you.”
“I love you too.” Mahiru whispered and smiled up at him. Kurocontinued to stroke his hair and Mahiru let his warm hand lull him to sleep. When his breathing slowed to an steady rhythm, Kuro pulled a blanket over themand fell asleep as well.
I didn’t know if I should make two separate post for this but I decided to put them both in one post.

Dedicated to my instructors Adrienne and Kenny, and my grandfather Yap Kim Hao. “Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.”
I came to Prague for a month to earn my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certification. I had been to several countries in Western Europe so I found myself constantly trying to absorb the culture but at the same time naturally comparing to life in the USA, Singapore, and Western Europe. I had easily learned survival French and even German but regularly butchered Czech even after a few language lessons. It has gone to the extent that it has become my life’s mission to say four in Czech “ctyri”.
None of my class knew but my grandfather had endured a minor heart attack while I was attending the course. I’m a bit of an obnoxious asshole to be frank, this came from growing up and being let down by my friends, loved ones, and role models time and again. So overtime I learned to “turn off” my feelings and refer to a visage of an insensitive person. I’m not proud of this but acknowledge it, I am an individual so sensitive and caring that I act the complete opposite to hide it. I wish I had confided in someone, but history has urged me to bottle it up and shut off my emotions – I dislike this the most about myself.
TEFL Worldwide Prague “Family Night”. (Yes, that is a puma. We went to Krakora Bar in Prague where the owner legally owns a pair of tame pumas who roam the bar on occasion.)
I learned quickly that Czech people are cold. It’s an uncommon occurrence for a passerby to smile or small talk with you even in a bar. This is not to say the people are rude but they are shy and reserved and it reflects as unwelcoming. Asking for directions, to pet someone’s dog, change for bigger bills, or to bum a cigarette is seen by Czechs as a weird and awkward request especially when they don’t know you. That being said, Czech people do have the best behaved dogs I have ever seen! So well-trained that it’s a frequent occurrence to see dogs following their owners off leash everywhere from the metro to school, Czechs see their dogs as their children so asking to pet them can come across as asking to pet their son or daughter so it’s just best not to be done.
1. See the Dancing House: Although closed to the general public Dancing House is just one of the many beautiful examples of Prague’s unmatched architecture.
2. Stroll through Charles Bridge: Prague is about as safe as it gets. Locals joke pickpocketing is said to be common in Prague because “experts” couldn’t find anything else criminal that occurs in the city.
3. Admire the St. Vitus Cathedral in the Prague Castle Grounds: Castles and holy places are widespread throughout the Czech Republic and Europe for that matter, therefore I always opt to find ones that are unique and standout to me – St. Vitus Cathedral was one of those.
Getting into the castle grounds you have to prepare for three things: a lot of steps, more often than not a long line, and security consisting of a walk through metal detector, a wand, and a pat down reinforced by cold stares from a small army of soldiers, law enforcement, and castle guards – although most people adore posing next to stationed guards to add a photo to their scrapbook.
4. St. Nicholas Church: As I mentioned before the Bell Tower, which is a separate entrance and fee, was my prime reason for scouting out this church, however I adored the ceiling painting and artwork.
5. Find Your Favorite Viewpoints! Because of the varied elevation finding the best viewpoints was one of my favorite activities in Prague. Pictured below is my favorite viewpoint from the top of steps up to the castle grounds.
  6. Take a Selfie at Lennon Bridge: An ode to John Lennon from various local artists, this wall is regularly being painted over and changing over time, and it’s all too common for a passerby to pose in front of it for a new profile picture.
7. See the Astronomical Clock’s Puppet Show in Old Town Square: The Astronomical Clock to me was a bit of a let down as the hourly puppet show is only a few seconds long and underwhelming to say the least. Regardless, there is always a mob standing in front of it with their phones and cameras out patiently waiting for the show to begin. It’s one of those things that I refer to as being so bad that it’s good, kind of like the film Roadhouse.
8. Walk Through “The Narrowest Street in Prague”: This one-way alleyway is so tight that it has a traffic light.
9. Find the Love Locks: Primarily found in various spots underneath Charles Bridge, I admit I’m indifferent towards love locks as I consider it a bit tacky and just don’t think it’s that romantic of a gesture to, in a small sense, vandalize public property to express your affection for someone. The collective weight of love locks has gotten to the extent where they must be removed regularly as part of city maintenance due to structural damage to attractions such as the Eiffel Tower. However, I occasionally see them as little mosaics of art. I am torn in my opinion to say the least.
10. Go to a Thai parlor and have fish eat your feet. Literally they are widespread throughout Prague and cost around $20 for a 30 minute session. Get a great Snapchat and surf while little schools fish consume the dead skin off your feet.
11. Ride the Metro! The public transportation is unmatched in Prague and very clean at that, the metro has three lines (A, B, & C) which intersect in the center of Prague and each line only goes two directions so if you ever miss your stop like me simply get off, walk across the platform, and take the subway back. Moreover, my first experience using the metro led to me paying a fine of 800 Czech krowns ($30) for buying a child’s ticket instead of an adult’s by mistake. The result of a simple overlook when buying from the ticket machine and rotten luck since tourists are targeted on the metro by police for this exact reason.
The districts in Prague are relatively easy to navigate as they are numbered just like in the Hunger Games. I lived in Prague 9 while I earned my TEFL certification and when I had friends come and visit jokes about who “volunteered as tribute” were shared relatively often.
12. Feast! Czech food is for meat and potatoes eaters. Dumplings, sauerkraut, schnitzel, and goulash are some traditional Czech entrees. Czech food is more so about being savory and filling as opposed to being nutritional or complex – so you won’t find many fruits or vegetables in entrees. That being said, I’m not sure why but KFC is everywhere in Prague – I guess because Czech’s love that it’s finger lickin’ good!
Tipping isn’t common in Prague as customer service is nonexistent. Tipping 10% on a bill is considered generous. Generally patrons will simply round up their tab so if they have a bill that is 180 Czech krowns they will just hand over a 200 note and say keep it or ask for how much of their change they want back. Czech people will never be insulted by a nice tip but again make sure to lower your expectations of customer service when eating out in Prague..
Paying in big bills is inconsiderate. 25 Czech krowns equates to $1 US Dollar and typical entrees will not cost more than $8 or 200 krowns. So paying with a 5000 or 2000 Czech note for a small bill is often seen as inconsiderate because servers and bartenders don’t make nearly enough to regularly make change for large bills and will run out of small bills themselves. Czech notes come in 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 5000 and coins come in .1, .2, .5, .10, .20, and .50. It’s similar to if someone in the USA gave you a $100 bill at a restaurant for a $5 meal and then asks for all ones or fives in change.
13. Do Laundry: The washers in a lot of Europe are TINY. Not much bigger than a microwave, these washers are about a third of the size of the washers I’m accustomed to using while I was living in America.
Hang drying your clothes on drying racks strategically placed by heaters is widespread in Europe, especially during the winter season. Expect to wait a day or two for thick articles of clothing like jeans to dry and even then the seams might still be damp on top of the stiffness becoming uncomfortable and inconvenient. It’s also a good idea to crack a nearby window open so that the air doesn’t become humid.
14. Take a Bath: I will always loathe laying down in a bathtub and holding a shower head over me although I appreciate being able to brush my teeth in one room while my roommate relieves himself in the other. I am 6 feet tall and loathed bathing for this reason, my French roommate was 6 foot 6 and had long hair, I would not wish what he had to endure in there on my worst enemy.
15. Go on a Day Trip! Prague has some of best day trips. Kutna Hora, Cesky Krumlov, Cesky Raj, and Velka Amerika are among a few of Czech Republic’s best kept secrets. Architecture, museums, hiking, castles, cathedrals, whitewater rafting – you name it the Czech Republic has it. Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Austria are also only a few hours away by bus or train.
Kutna Hora’s Bone Church:
16. Admire the Fauna: Swans and peacocks are typical wildlife in Prague as well as hedgehogs in the spring when it’s warmer.
17. Get a Workout: Steps in Prague are a everywhere when it comes to traveling and sightseeing. The escalators are among the steepest I have ever seen and taking a series of stairs to go anywhere should be expected. I’m not nearly in the shape I used to be when I was cagefighting but maintain some form of health and fitness through hiking and walking everywhere so I always got a good laugh at watching people take a break trying to overcome the many steps up to a tower, down to a metro station, and especially up to the castle grounds. I’m an asshole, I know, you don’t have to tell me.
18. Turn your head at the prices. The cost of living and especially visiting Prague is dirt cheap from taking Ubers, to hotels, to eating out. Beer is cheaper than water, not by a lot but it definitely is. On average a pint of beer at a bar will cost between $1-2, in a grocery store it is possible to order a plastic 2-liter of beer for the same price range. While in the meantime a small water, depending on factors such as if it’s flavored, sparkling, glass bottled, will cost a few cents more at a bar and potentially a few dollars more at a grocery store depending on the factors. Note that is is customary in Prague to have a lot of head on your beer.
Prague has the Guinness World Record for annual consumption of beer in the world. You can even pay to bathe in beer. Yes, for around $90 you can bathe in a tub of Bernard Brewery’s homemade beer.
